August 17 to 22, 2026 - Yosemite Tuolumne Meadows Area (mostly)
Spent a week in Yosemite, mostly in the Tuolumne Meadows and Porcupine Creek areas. Over the 7 nights we spent 2 nights at Crane Flat campgorund, 3 nights at Tuolumne Meadows lodge and 2 nights at Porcupine Flat campground.

Below is the map showing where we took photos. Click the picture to see an interactive map. Click any of the pins in the interactive map to see more details on that photo and a link to the blog entry.
The first two nights were spent at the Crane Flat Campground. We had some very colorful sunsets.
After taking it easy for a couple of days to adjust to the altitude, we finally hit the trail on our third day in Yosemite with a relatively flat hike around Tenaya Lake.
On our fourth day, we tackled the hike to Dog Lake. It kicked off with a pretty steep climb that left us breathless, but we persevered and finally made it past the initial incline to the relatively flat trail that followed.
Our final hike of the trip was also our most difficult: an 8-mile up-and-down trek to North Dome. Not only did it offer the most beautiful views of Half Dome in the entire park (in my opinion, at least), but for the first time all week, we actually managed to get strong 5G signals on both Verizon and T-Mobile.
